Getting Out of My Cave

Marketing can be the toughest part of writing, especially since so many authors are introverts. In the past couple of years, I’ve done a few book talks and two book fairs and maybe–just maybe–I’m getting comfortable with it. I’m signed up for an authors and crafters show in August and an author meet and greet in October. I even just accepted an invitation to have coffee with a couple of local authors I’ve met.

WHAT???? Susannah–what is going on with you?

I guess I’ve realized that getting out of my cave, and outside my comfort zone, isn’t as bad as I thought. I’ve survived, even though two of my three book talks were very sparsely attended, and at the last author meet and greet I sold exactly zero books. (To be fair, almost no one there sold a book.) Online sales and marketing are even worse, but that’s a rant for another day.

Maybe sparse attendance is a good thing. Baby steps, Susannah.

OOH! While we’re at it, how about a sneak peek at the cover for my upcoming novel, Nostalgia?
