Oh, say! I can see!

For sixty-two years, I’ve needed glasses to see clearly. As of Wednesday, I am eyeglass free! I had cataract surgery in my left eye, and my vision is clear enough that I don’t need to wear glasses even though my right eye won’t be done until the 29th.

Now, if you have never had to wear glasses full-time, this might not seem like a big thing to you. But…now I won’t have to fumble around to find my glasses so I can see. I won’t have to wear glasses while swimming or go without them and be half-blind. My glasses won’t slide down my nose (and sometimes off my face) when I get hot and sweaty. They won’t steam up when I go from  cold to hot or vice versa. I could go on, but you get the point.

I feel like a free woman!

In other news, we spent the second week of July at Boyd Pond, one of our favorite places. It is secluded, and quiet, with no phone service (meh). I’ll leave you with a couple of pictures from our stay.

  1. Yes! Susan and I have both had cataracts removed and don’t need glasses, except to read. Susan couldn’t see clearly more than 2 feet away all her life until the surgery. I am glad for you.
